The UWED held a Master's Class on International Construction Contracts within The Framework of The Implementation of SDGs

On 17 December this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a master class on the subject of “International Commercial Transactions” for first-year master's students studying “International Business Law” and “International Commercial Arbitration and Dispute Resolution” on the topic “International Construction Contracts”. The master class was organised by Professor Imamova Dilfuza of the Department of Civil Law and International Private Law.
The master class was led by a partner at the MY LAWYER law firm, a practising lawyer in the field of international arbitration and construction law, a certified FIDIC contract trainer, a member of the FIDIC Asia Pacific Future Leaders Executive Committee, and a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (London) and the Dispute Resolution Council Foundation, Feruza Bobokulova, was invited to conduct the master class.
During the master class, Feruza Bobokulova revealed in detail the legal nature of international construction contracts, highlighted the features of FIDIC contracts, and shared her practical experience in concluding such contracts and resolving disputes arising from them. This allowed master's students to clearly link theoretical knowledge with practice.
The master's students showed great interest in the topic, actively participated in the discussion, asked relevant questions, and received substantive and reasoned answers.
This master class directly contributes to the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”, in particular paragraph 16.3, which aims to strengthen the rule of law and ensure equal access to justice, as well as Sustainable Development Goal 17 “Partnerships for sustainable development”, in particular paragraph 17.6, which provides for strengthening international cooperation in science, technology and innovation and expanding access to them.
The master class made a significant contribution to the development of academic dialogue, strengthening the interaction between theory and practice, and improving the educational process.
