Representatives of the UWED participated in a ceremonial event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of “Saodat” magazine

On December 15 of this year, a large-scale spiritual and educational event was held dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the magazine “Saodat”, which occupies a special place in the spiritual and educational life of women and for many years has been helping to increase their legal awareness and social activity. This authoritative event was attended by the Chairman of the Advisory Council on Women's Issues of the UWED, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Sultanova E.S., as well as a member of the Advisory Council on Women's Issues of the Faculty of International Law, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Legal Sciences, Associate Professor M.N. Mirkhamidova.
During the event, the century-old history of the magazine “Saodat” and its contribution to increasing the level of literacy of women in Uzbek society, protecting their rights and legitimate interests, as well as expanding the participation of women in socio-political life and the public administration system were especially noted. It was emphasized that socio-political, legal, spiritual, moral and cultural materials published on the pages of the magazine play an important role in shaping the worldview, values and civic position of women.
The event participants also discussed the role of the media, in particular traditional print media, in highlighting the status of women in the context of globalization, their place in the modern information space, as well as the responsibility of the media in educating the younger generation and stimulating its social activity.
It was separately noted that the participation of UWED representatives in this event is a logical continuation of the university’s consistent work to comprehensively support women, increase their activity in science, education and public life. This, in turn, clearly demonstrated the significant role of higher education institutions in ensuring gender equality and unlocking the potential of women in society.
The event is consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, primarily SDG 5 “Gender Equality” (empowering women and supporting their leadership), SDG 4 “Quality education” (increasing legal and civic literacy through education), as well as SDG 16 “Peace, justice and strong institutions” (strengthening a legal culture, respect for human rights and civic responsibility).
At the end of the event, sincere congratulations and best wishes were addressed to the editorial staff and creative team of the magazine “Saodat” for further creative success in covering current issues related to the lives of women, based on a harmonious combination of national values and modern development trends.
