UWED held a scientific and practical round table dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination

On November 27 of this year, a scientific-practical roundtable was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The event was attended by professors, staff of the Ombudsman of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of other state bodies, experts, and students.
During the roundtable, the historical development and adoption of the Convention, its global significance, and its role in national legislation were discussed. Special attention was given to the importance of educational and cultural programs in combating racial discrimination, as well as to the formation of legal awareness among the younger generation.
Participants exchanged views on the international and national significance of the Convention, mechanisms for its implementation, ways to ensure racial equality through educational and cultural programs, and the development of tolerance and respect for human rights among youth.
At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized the importance of scientific research and academic cooperation in protecting human rights, promoting interethnic harmony, and advancing social justice, as well as the need to educate young professionals and raise their legal awareness.
Additionally, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Convention, a scientific article competition was held among students, with the first-place winner being Mohlaroyim Khosiljon qizi Anvarova, a 3rd-year student of UWED, who was awarded at the event.
