On October 7, a delegation from the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Oriental Studies), Italy, visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED). The delegation was led by Rector Professor Roberto Tottoli and included Professor Tommaso Trevisani, the university’s coordinator for Central Asian affairs.

During the visit, the guests met with Mr. Sodyq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of UWED.

Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration in education, academic research, and student and faculty exchange programs. Rector Sodyq Safoev spoke about UWED’s key international priorities and expressed the university’s readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

In turn, Professor Roberto Tottoli emphasized the strong potential for partnership with UWED in developing joint programs and research initiatives. Professor Tommaso Trevisani highlighted a previous Erasmus+ project proposal prepared in collaboration with UWED and expressed interest in reviving the initiative in the coming academic year.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding student and faculty exchanges, as well as advancing joint academic and research projects.
