The presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: the path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” was held in the building of the US Congress in Washington.
The event was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodiq Safoev, more than 70 representatives of the US Congress, the White House, the State Department, leading federal agencies, international companies, business associations, as well as diplomatic and expert circles.
The official part was opened by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States Furkat Siddikov and the rector of the UWED S. Safoev.
In their speeches, they stressed that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a new stage of socio-economic and democratic reforms is being implemented in the country, and noted that this book analytically reflects this path of development.
The participants exchanged views on the ongoing reforms in New Uzbekistan, changes in the field of public administration, the implementation of human rights, in the fields of economy, education, gender equality and foreign policy.
The event focused on achievements in the fields of education, health, gender policy and social protection, in particular women's rights and capacity building for young people.
Also, the participants of the event were provided with detailed information about the content of the book. The book highlights the main directions and stages of reforms implemented by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev over the past eight years, as well as analyzes their impact on the economic, social and political development of the country.
Members of the U.S. Congress highly appreciated the publication of the book and recognized President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as a modern political leader and head of state striving for democratic reforms.
The presentation also included a meaningful dialogue with U.S. officials, experts, and business representatives. They exchanged views on the importance of the reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the prospects for further deepening bilateral relations.
Electronic versions of the book have been widely distributed in Congress, think tanks, and circles with the power to influence policy decision-making in Washington.
The event was also regarded as an example of effective public diplomacy, serving to further strengthen the positive image of Uzbekistan in the United States and the development of long-term ties between our peoples.
