As you know, in April this year, the French Association for International Solidarity and Education A.S.I.E. visited UWED and, together with the university, held a seminar aimed at ensuring the activity of young people in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

A.S.I.E. is a non-governmental non-profit organization in the city of Bourges, France, whose main task is to implement various programs within the framework of the SDGs. The organization has been cooperating with higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan for more than 9 years. At the initiative of A.S.I.E. President Alain Payen, more than 10 programs on language, culture and ecology were implemented in both countries, 50 young people from France visited Uzbekistan. In addition, representatives of science, culture and education of Uzbekistan also visited France under the auspices of this organization and took part in events dedicated to the history and culture of our country.

During the seminar held at UWED, information was provided on the objectives of the organization, the work done within the framework of the SDGs, and the importance of youth activity in this process. A competition was also announced for the "Service civique" (Civil Service) internship program, funded by the French government. This competition aims to strengthen cooperation through intercultural dialogue between countries and the implementation of the SDG targets.  The program is allocated on the basis of a separate quota for each region of France, and each organization has the right to choose a candidate based on the goals of its activities and partnerships.

A.S.I.E. has a separate quota for youth from Africa, Latin America and Asia, and 1 place is allocated annually for Uzbekistan. The competition was announced among students of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan, and several young people submitted documents for participation. The main stage was held on June 28 in the format of an online interview. Dinara Ishbayeva, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of International Relations of the UWED, worthily demonstrated her knowledge of the French language and the SDGs and became the winner of the competition.

In October, Dinara Ishbaeva will begin to participate in the SDG events in the city of Bourges (France) and had the opportunity to exchange experience in this direction with representatives of various foreign countries.
