A meeting with the EU Ambassador and students was held at UWED

On May 7, 2025, at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, Mr. Toivo Klaar, delivered a speech for students.
The event took place as part of the course "Contemporary International Relations, Global Economy, and the Interests of Uzbekistan", attracting a large number of engaged participants.
During his lecture, Ambassador Klaar shared insights about the recently held EU–Central Asia Summit 2025, which took place in Samarkand. He emphasized the significance of the summit in strengthening political dialogue and enhancing economic cooperation between the European Union and the Central Asian region, including Uzbekistan.
The ambassador focused on the development of EU–Uzbekistan relations, outlining key strategic priorities such as trade, investment, sustainable development, green energy, and human rights. He also touched on broader international affairs in which the EU and Uzbekistan share mutual interests.
Following the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions. The discussion was dynamic and meaningful, with Ambassador Klaar responding openly and thoroughly, demonstrating his commitment to engaging with the younger generation.
This meeting served as a valuable educational experience, providing students with a direct perspective on the EU's foreign policy priorities in the region and Uzbekistan’s role in today’s international landscape.
