UWED hosted a methodological seminar dedicated to the speeches of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Parliament
On November 29 of this year, a methodological seminar was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, dedicated to the speeches of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev at the meetings of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Senate and the tasks arising from them.
The seminar, which was held in an expanded format, was attended by the university management, faculty and all responsible employees.
First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev presented to the audience a deep analysis of the speeches of the head of state.
He noted that the current parliamentary elections went down in history as the first held in accordance with the updated Constitution. This process was held for the first time under a mixed electoral system.
S. Safoyev emphasized that in his speeches the President not only summed up the results of the elections, which were held at a high organizational level and received recognition from the international community, but also set important tasks for the parliament and government of the country. He especially pointed out that this is a time of new approaches in the work of the parliament and government based on dedicated service to the people, increasing their well-being. For these purposes, it is primarily planned to continue large-scale socio-economic reforms.
The head of state's speeches paid special attention to the sphere of education and upbringing of youth. Based on this, the rector focused on short-term and long-term tasks facing the university's faculty and all UWED departments in the area of organizing student training based on modern international standards and training highly qualified personnel who meet today's requirements.
Along with this, the need for consistent continuation of the policy aimed at educating young people into mature people with a modern worldview, cultivating in them national pride and respect for universal values was indicated.
The speaker noted that the President of Uzbekistan called parliamentary diplomacy an important instrument of the state's foreign policy. In this context, he drew attention to the need to expand international cooperation and deepen regional interaction with immediate neighbors.
Touching upon the initiative of the head of state on the need to adopt a new version of the Foreign Policy Concept, S. Safoev emphasized that the leading scientists of the university will have to contribute to the preparation of this important document, as well as actively continue scientific research in the field of international relations.
Concluding his speech, the rector called on the UWED staff to mobilize all their capabilities to fulfill the important tasks set by the President of the country and to contribute to a new stage of the country's development.
