On 17 December 2025, lecturers of the Department of System Analysis and Mathematical Modelling held a round table titled “Mathematicians of Uzbekistan” at the Student House of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The aim was to introduce students to the traditions of the national school of mathematics, current research directions and the legacy of leading scholars, and to spark their interest in science.

    M. Esonturdiyev spoke about the formation of Uzbekistan’s school of mathematics, its scholarly traditions and the value of the mentor–student tradition, as well as applications of mathematics in engineering, economics and IT. A. Buriyev discussed current fields of modern mathematics, including differential equations, mathematical modelling and numerical methods, and encouraged students to take part in international conferences and publish in academic journals.

    D. Khasanova talked about Omar Khayyam’s contribution to solving cubic equations and their use in quantitative methods in today’s economics, the role of women mathematicians in science, and modern approaches to teaching mathematics.

The event ended with a question-and-answer session with students.
