UWED Legal Clinic Hosts Off-Site Court Hearings

The Legal Clinic of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted off-site court hearings conducted by the Mirzo Ulugbek District Criminal Court. The event aimed to strengthen students’ theoretical knowledge through practical experience, develop their professional skills, and enhance their legal awareness and culture.
The hearings were attended by university faculty members and students, judges, an assistant district prosecutor, and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
During the off-site hearings, the court examined cases involving drug-related offenses, violations of tax legislation, breaches of road safety regulations, and matters concerning administrative and criminal liability. The students had the opportunity to observe judicial proceedings firsthand, become familiar with court procedures, and deepen their understanding of the practical application of law.
Particular attention was paid to preventing offenses and crime among young people and promoting legal awareness and a culture of respect for the law. Experts analyzed the underlying causes of legal violations and provided practical recommendations on crime prevention.
For information: The Clinic focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical legal training through workshops, training sessions, and educational activities involving experienced faculty members, professors, and legal practitioners.
Over the years, nearly 1,000 students have participated in the Clinic’s educational and practical training programs. In addition, thousands of socially vulnerable citizens have received free legal advice and guidance to help them protect their rights and legitimate interests.
Currently, approximately 100 second-year students from the Faculty of International Law are actively participating in practical training sessions and workshops organized by the Legal Clinic, acquiring essential knowledge and professional skills for their future legal careers.
The organization of such off-site court hearings contributes to the development of practice-oriented and dual education at UWED, strengthens the connection between academic learning and judicial practice, and enhances the professional training of future legal specialists.
