UWED Representative Delivered a Lecture at a Scientific Seminar Dedicated to the History of the Jadid Movement

On 6 July 2026, a scientific seminar was held at the Command of the Air Defence and Air Force Troops. Muslimbek Alijonov, Associate Professor at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History, took part in the seminar with a lecture entitled “The Emergence and Development of the Jadid Movement in Turkestan.”
The lecture provided a detailed overview of the socio-political processes that took place in Turkestan in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the factors behind the formation of the Jadid movement, and its role in the history of national awakening.
The activities of the Jadids aimed at promoting education among the people, establishing new-method schools, developing the national press, and modernising society were also analysed on the basis of historical sources.
During the lecture, detailed information was also presented on the educational activities of prominent Jadid figures such as Mahmudkhoja Behbudiy, Munavvarqori Abdurashidkhonov, Obidjon Mahmudov and Abdurauf Fitrat, as well as their role in shaping the ideas of national development and independence.
At the conclusion of the event, the importance of such educational meetings in preserving historical memory, strengthening national identity and educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism was emphasised.
