UWED Students Successfully Participated in the International Italian Language Olympiad “Universiadi della Lingua Italiana – 2026”

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy successfully hosted the international Italian language Olympiad “Universiadi della Lingua Italiana – 2026” among students at a high organizational level. The event was organized at the initiative of the Department of European and Turkic Languages in cooperation with ANILS — the National Association of Foreign Language Teachers of Italy.

ANILS (Associazione Nazionale Insegnanti Lingue Straniere) is one of the oldest and most prestigious non-governmental professional organizations in Italy, specializing in the development of foreign language teaching methodologies, particularly Italian as a second language, the exchange of pedagogical experience, and the support of international educational projects. Organizing the Olympiad in cooperation with this organization contributes to further improving the quality of foreign language education at UWED and strengthening international academic cooperation.

During the Olympiad, students demonstrated their proficiency in the Italian language, theoretical knowledge, and practical communicative skills. Participants took part in several stages of assessment organized in accordance with international standards for evaluating language competencies.

The examinations were aimed not only at assessing the participants’ theoretical preparation, but also at evaluating their practical language competence, communication culture, and ability to apply modern communicative approaches. Throughout the Olympiad, students demonstrated their ability to express ideas fluently in Italian, engage in discussions, and communicate in accordance with international language standards.

The Olympiad became one of the important academic and educational events aimed at increasing students’ interest in in-depth foreign language learning, strengthening their competitiveness in the international academic environment, and further enhancing UWED’s reputation in the global educational arena.
