In March of this year, Alisher Bobonazarov, a lecturer of the Department of Civil Law and Private International Law at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, participated as one of the instructors of the “Legal English for Professionals” course organized for employees of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Justice at the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Legal Personnel.

The course is aimed at developing professional lawyers’ English-language skills, as well as their research, analytical, and legal communication competencies. Within the framework of the program, the UWED lecturer delivered sessions on “Legal communication and the importance of mooting in legal education”.

The course covers a wide range of key legal fields, including legal terminology and its practical application, fundamental concepts of various branches of law, as well as issues related to proper legal drafting of contracts and documents and the protection of parties’ interests in court proceedings. Therefore, the course serves as an important platform for practicing legal professionals to enhance their skills and competencies.

The organization of this masterclass contributes to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 - “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions,” especially target 16.3 (ensuring the rule of law and equal access to justice), as well as Goal 17 - “Partnerships for the Goals,” in particular target 17.6 (enhancing international cooperation in science, technology, and innovation and expanding access to them).
