The First Forum of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation “Central Asia – European Union” has started its work in the city of Samarkand. It is attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev.

The international dialogue is attended by representatives of the parliaments of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, members of the European Parliament, experts, representatives of international organizations, civil society, academia and business.

The forum will host important sessions on such topical issues as the state of modern political dialogue and its future prospects, green transformation, economic connectivity, security in the digital space, inclusive governance and the modern importance of parliamentary diplomacy.

It should be noted that this initiative was put forward by the head of state at the Central Asia-European Union summit held on April 4, 2025.
