On November 11, a master class lecture titled “Modern Islamic Law” was organized for 4th-year students of the Faculty of International Law by Professor Haydarali Muratovich Yunusov, Doctor of Law, from the Faculty of International and Comparative Law.

The primary purpose of this session was to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the historical development of the Islamic legal system, its normative foundations, sources of law, as well as its role and influence within the national legal systems of modern states.

During his lecture, Professor Yunusov conducted a comparative analysis of the legal nature of the main sources of Islamic law and modern legal systems. The master class also explored the universal principles of Islamic law, its role in the protection of human rights, and the particular trends in the development of Islamic law in the context of globalization.

The event included practical examples aimed at reinforcing students’ theoretical knowledge, legal cases from international judicial practice, and analyses of modern legislative acts adopted in Islamic countries.

At the end of the session, students engaged in an open dialogue with the professor, discussing topical issues related to the subject and receiving detailed answers to their questions. The event concluded with important reflections on the integration of Islamic law with international law, its role within the framework of international legal norms, and its future prospects.

This master class not only broadened the students’ theoretical knowledge but also helped them develop practical skills in understanding the significance of Islamic law in contemporary legal processes.
