Cooperation with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Continues

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Korea) is one of the close partners of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED). The Uzbek language has been taught for many years at the Department of Central Asian Studies. For several years, Korean students have been studying at UWED within the framework of academic exchange programs, learning, in particular, the Uzbek and Russian languages.
In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-330 dated July 23, 2022, “On Measures to Systematically Reform the Activities of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy” and under the cooperation agreement signed in 2017 between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), the head of the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages at UWED, M.D. Abdurakhmanova, is currently delivering lectures and practical sessions at HUFS at the invitation of the partner university.
In particular, HUFS gave a lecture to students and professors of the Institute of Central Asian Studies on the topic: “The main directions of soft power strategy in Uzbekistan: language policy and the international prestige of the Uzbek language”. Opinions were also exchanged on current language policy, soft power, and the role of artificial intelligence in education.
These days, M. Abdurakhmanova is conducting Uzbek language classes at this department. Students showed strong enthusiasm for the classes on "Expression of cause in the Uzbek language," "Ways of expressing desire in the Uzbek language," "How the meaning of command is expressed." It is gratifying that students show great interest in Uzbekistan, in particular, they are eager to study at UWED as part of an exchange program.
