Scholarship Programmes

Central Bank scholarship opportunities are generally organized in two main directions:

Central Bank Special Scholarship

The Central Bank Special Scholarship is designed to encourage talented and initiative-driven students and to develop their knowledge and skills in banking, finance, economics and information technologies. Scholarship recipients are selected through a competitive process.

Scholarship Conditions and Opportunities
  • Gaining practical insight into the activities of the Central Bank
  • Undertaking an internship for no more than 15 hours per week
  • Strengthening theoretical knowledge through practical experience
  • Developing professional skills in banking, finance and economics
Main Requirements for Applicants
  • Have a high ranking indicator based on the results of the last academic year
  • Have excellent command of the state language
  • Know Russian and English at least at B2 level
Selection Procedure
1Test ExaminationThe test examination is conducted remotely. Depending on the field of study, the test may include:
2Foreign Language AssessmentApplicants who successfully pass the test may be invited to an interview to assess their foreign language proficiency.
3Expert Group InterviewThe most suitable candidates are invited to an interview with the Expert Group. Scholarship recipients are selected based on the results of the competition.
Selected candidates may undertake an internship at Central Bank divisions for up to 15 hours per week.

Central Bank Research Scholarship Programme

The Central Bank Research Scholarship Programme is designed to support master's students, doctoral students and independent researchers. The programme is aimed at young researchers conducting research in economics, finance, banking, monetary policy, financial stability, payment systems, financial literacy and other relevant areas.

Programme Duration and Scholarship Amount
  • Successful candidates enter into a contract for a period from 3 to 12 months, depending on the complexity of the research topic. The scholarship amount depends on the candidate's academic or research level:

  • Master's students receive a scholarship equal to the monthly salary of an assistant lecturer at state higher education institutions
  • Doctoral students receive a scholarship equal to the monthly salary of a senior lecturer
