UWED Rector meets with German Bundestag deputies

Sodyq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, held a meeting with German Bundestag deputies Peter Felzer and Christoph Birghan.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Germany.

It was noted that inter-parliamentary dialogue plays an important role in strengthening relations between the two countries, promoting new initiatives, and implementing joint projects.

Views were exchanged on the further expansion of cooperation between Germany and Central Asian countries, as well as the strengthening of ties in the fields of research and education. The members of the German Parliament noted that Uzbekistan, as a country located in the very heart of Central Asia and possessing enormous economic and human potential, plays an important role in the region. It was also emphasized that Germany is interested in further developing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan.

At the end of the dialogue, the parties expressed their readiness to expand practical cooperation in the identified priority areas and to continue regular contacts.
