First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Uzbekistan Kypros Yorgallis.

During the meeting, issues of consistent development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Cyprus, further intensification of inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as expansion of cooperation in the fields of education, science, analytical centers and academic exchanges were discussed in detail.

The parties considered the possibilities of developing institutional cooperation between higher education institutions, including the expansion of student and teacher exchanges, the implementation of joint educational programs and research projects, as well as the establishment of cooperation within the framework of European academic programs, such as Erasmus+.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for the consistent development of inter-parliamentary, educational and scientific cooperation, the effective use of existing opportunities and the support of mutually beneficial initiatives.
