UWED students won a DAAD scholarship to study in Germany

In the renewed Uzbekistan, comprehensive reforms covered all spheres of life of society and the state without exception. First of all, they are aimed at ensuring constitutional human rights, increasing his status, and creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of the younger generation. From this perspective, one of the strategic goals is to train young specialists with high potential, modern knowledge, creative thinking, and who are fluent in foreign languages. Nowadays, knowledge of foreign languages is the key to success in almost all areas of life.
According to SDG 11.2.6 “Accounting and preserving cultural heritage”, dedicated to the implementation of projects for accounting and preserving intangible cultural heritage, such as local folklore, traditions and language, 3rd year students studying German as a second language at the department of “European and Turkic languages” participated in an international qualifying competition held in the fall of 2025, and in early March 2026 received scholarships DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
The DAAD Summer Language School is one of the opportunities to deepen knowledge of the German language and regional studies, that is, general language knowledge and competencies, professionally oriented language training.
The fact that UWED students won grants provided by DAAD and will study in Germany in the summer on the basis of this grant indicates that the university conditions allow the implementation of SDG 4, that is, to provide students with quality education and develop their language skills, which contributes to the implementation of SDG 11.
