Biography Facts
Qodir Djuraev graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of UWED (1995), completed his PhD program (1999) and his DSc program (2009) in political sciences at UWED.
He began his career in 1995 as a senior expert at the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.During 2000-2024, he worked as a senior lecturer, associate professor, dean of the faculty, and acting professor of UWED. From 2010 to 2024, he was served as an MP of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan (lower chamber of the National Parliament).
Since 2025, he is serving as a professor in the Department “Political Sciences” of UWED. He teaches such courses as "Basics of Political Sciences," "Political Analysis and Its Theoretical and Methodological Foundations," and others. Since 2020, he has been the Chair of the Scientific Seminar under the UWED Academic Council, which is specialized in the defense of dissertations in political sciences.
He speaks fluently Uzbek, Russian, English, French, and Tajik. Qodir Djuraev's research works covrs such areas as comparative political systems, modern electoral systems, the evolution of the French political system during the Fifth Republic, political processes in Central Asian countries, and the issues of regional cooperation and development.
