Biography Facts
Dr. Ulugbek Khasanov is a Professor of the International Relations Department and Editor-in-Chief of the “International Affairs: Politics, Economics, Law” journal of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. With over a decade of experience in academia, he leads research on regional security, focusing on the geopolitical dynamics of Central Asia, including relations with China, Russia, and the US. His background includes significant roles in the Office of the President of Uzbekistan, where he served as Press Secretary and Chief Consultant. Dr. Khasanov has contributed extensively to scholarly publications and international conferences, addressing issues like food security, governance, and transportation in Central Asia. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the Moscow Institute of World Economics and International Relations. Fluent in English and Arabic, he is also proficient in Russian and Uzbek, and he has participated in various international research projects and visiting scholar programs.
