    Biography Facts

    Dr. Timur Dadabaev is a Professor of International Relations and Director of the Special Program for Japanese and Eurasian Studies at the University of Tsukuba, as well as a Professor of International Relations at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. He has held visiting positions at the Australian National University (2024), Columbia University’s Harriman Institute (2018–2020), the East-West Center in Washington (2018), the East Asia Institute in South Korea (2016–2017), Kyoto University (2019–2020), the University of Cambridge (2006–2007), and the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (2006). Previously, he served as Associate Professor at the University of Tsukuba (2006–2019) and the University of Tokyo (2004–2016). He holds a Ph.D. (2001) and MA (1998) in International Studies from Ritsumeikan University, and dual bachelor’s degrees in International Relations (UWED, 1995) and English Philology (University of World Languages, 1995).
