Biography Facts
Sharifkhojayev Shavkat Okilovich, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of the Department of International Economics, University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
In 1976, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy. In 1977-1993, he worked in various positions at scientific research institutes, including as a senior researcher, department head at the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 1983, he received the degree of candidate of economic sciences, and in 1994, he received the degree of doctor of economic sciences.
In 1994-2015, he worked in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During this period, he worked as first secretary and adviser in the embassies of Uzbekistan in Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan. He has the diplomatic rank of second-class advisor.
Since January 2016, he has been working as the head of the "International Economics" department of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and since September 2022, he has been working as a professor of the department.
He is a co-author of the monographs “Formation of venture financing in Uzbekistan” and “Development and implementation of a venture financing mechanism based on free economic zones (based on foreign experience)”, and the author of the textbook “Special economic zones”.
Member of the Expert Group of the Committee on Development of the Aral Sea Region and Ecology of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
