    Biography

    Born on May 4, 1981, in Shofirkon district, Bukhara region.

    In 2006, he graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy with a degree in International Economic Relations.

    In 2007–2008, worked as Referent and Attaché at the Main Directorate for Analysis and Strategy of Foreign Policy Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    In 2008–2012, served as Attaché and later Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Singapore. After completing his long-term foreign assignment, he continued his career within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system.

    In 2012–2015, held the positions of Second Secretary, First Secretary, and Head of Department at the Directorate for Cooperation with CIS and SCO structures. During this period, he dealt with issues of cross-border cooperation.

    In 2015–2017, served as Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and simultaneously headed the Ministry’s Secretariat.

    In October 2017, was appointed Counselor and Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Austria.

    From August 29, 2018, to 2020, served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Austria. At the same time, he was the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to international organizations in Vienna — OSCE, IAEA, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), UNIDO, and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

    In 2020, was elected Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council’s Economic and Environmental Committee, becoming the first representative of Uzbekistan to head one of the organization’s three main committees.

    On March 19, 2020, was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, overseeing cooperation with the United Nations, the OSCE, and the European Union.

    On March 24, 2021, was appointed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration — Press Secretary to the President of Uzbekistan.

    On August 17, 2023, following the abolition of the positions of Head of the Presidential Administration and his deputies, Sherzod Asadov continued serving as Press Secretary to the President of Uzbekistan.

    On July 14, 2025, by Presidential decree, was appointed Head of the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration — Press Secretary to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
