The University of Perugia hosted the “Day of Uzbekistan”

On July 28 of this year, the University for Foreigners in Perugia (Italy) hosted the event "Day of Uzbekistan" (Giornata dell'Uzbekistan).
The event was organized on the initiative of students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), who were taking an intensive month-long course of the Italian language.
The event was attended by the rector of the university, Mr. Valerio De Cesaris, teachers and students. The main purpose of the event was to strengthen cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Italy, as well as to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
The program began with a tasting of traditional Uzbek pilaf prepared by UWED student Panjiev Asliddin. During the treat, the guests were shown videos about the nature, culture and history of Uzbekistan, as well as samples of national music, such as dance melodies and shashmaqom.
Further, UWED students made informative presentations about the rich history of Uzbekistan, national clothes, architectural monuments and cultural traditions. The participants of the event expressed their deep gratitude for the interesting information and the opportunity to get acquainted with Uzbek cuisine.
The event made a significant contribution to the strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries, the development of intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. In addition, it has supported several UN Sustainable Development Goals in practice, including quality education, equality, inclusion, and sustainable partnerships.
