Towards Quality Education through Interdisciplinary Cooperation

During the second semester of this year, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, teachers of the departments of "English Language" and "System Analysis and Mathematical Modeling" implemented a project on interdisciplinary cooperation. This project, based on the fourth goal of the SDGs, which provides quality education, was attended by second-year students of the Faculty of International Economics and Management.

As you know, second-year students study English for Special Purposes (ESP) at the university. They have the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge of special subjects in English lessons, as well as to apply their English language skills in the study of special subjects. With this in mind, for the effective organization of independent training of second-year students, the teachers of the departments of "English Language" and "System Analysis and Mathematical Modeling" developed and implemented a two-stage task aimed at developing both knowledge and language skills in the field of management.

As part of the task, students read the book "Goal" by Eliyahu Goldrat, which is considered one of the masterpieces of world literature, and strengthened their theoretical knowledge in the field of management. At the second stage, they presented this knowledge and their impressions of the book in English lessons. This project, based on an interdisciplinary approach, contributed to the improvement of the quality and content of ESP teaching and management and showed positive results.
