UWED Student Successfully Participates in the Final of the “Uzbek Language Is the Language of My Soul” Competition

Haruki Ikeda, a student of Hitotsubashi University in Japan currently studying at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) under an academic exchange programme, actively participated in the national competition “Uzbek Language Is the Language of My Soul.”
The competition was organised in accordance with Paragraph 7 of Resolution No. PP-308 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated October 20, 2025, “On Additional Measures for the Further Development of the State Language,” as well as Order No. 132 of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, dated April 9, 2026. Pursuant to the Ministry’s official letter No. 05/61-8923, dated October 9, 2026, Haruki Ikeda represented UWED at the national stage of the competition.
Following the first stage of the competition, which aimed to increase international students’ interest in the Uzbek language and foster greater appreciation for Uzbek culture, Haruki Ikeda was selected as one of the 15 finalists. During the final round, held on October 15–16, participants competed in three categories: preparing video presentations about themselves, writing essays in Uzbek, and delivering artistic performances.
At the conclusion of the competition, Haruki Ikeda was awarded a certificate of honour and commemorative gifts in recognition of his active participation.
The competition provided international students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Uzbek literature and culture while promoting intercultural dialogue. Haruki Ikeda’s participation also demonstrated how international academic exchange programmes at UWED create valuable opportunities for students to explore different languages and cultures and strengthen mutual understanding.
