    On January 9, 2026, the next reporting conference of the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. At the meeting, a report on the work done was presented, including the holding of Republican Championships and Cups, as well as the results of participation in international competitions and local training camps of national rugby teams.

    In addition, the financial report for 2025 and the calendar plan of events for holding Republican Championships and Cups, as well as GIR 2.0 festivals for 2026 were presented. During the conference, plans for the participation of national teams in international competitions and training camps in 2026 were also discussed.

    An important topic was the discussion of the organization and holding of the Central Asian Rugby-7 Championship League.

    At the end of the event, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan was held.

    The memorandum of cooperation is aimed at developing mass and student sports, popularizing the Olympic sport rugby-7, as well as increasing the level of physical activity and strengthening the health of students. As part of the agreement, the parties agreed on the creation and systematic operation of a rugby club on the basis of the university, the organization of sports sections, regular training, competitions, master classes and meetings with leading athletes and coaches.

    The document also provides for the implementation of programs for the formation of a healthy lifestyle, the prevention of bad habits, the meaningful organization of students' leisure, as well as the training of a sports reserve for participation in republican and international competitions, including the Universiade. Cooperation will contribute to the identification of talented youth, the development of team sports and the strengthening of interaction between the educational and sports spheres.
