    An international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Problems and Solutions in Teaching Languages in Education” was held at UWED

    On May 20, 2025, to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-330 dated July 23, 2022, “On Measures for Systemic Reform of the Activities of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy”, to realize the tasks of UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 17, and to further develop science and enhance the effectiveness of research work at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), the Departments of Romance and Germanic Languages and Uzbek and Russian Languages organized an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Problems and Solutions in Teaching Languages in Education”.

    Research scientists from Spain, Turkey, Azerbaijan and China took part in the conference with reports.

    It is known that the targets of SDG 4 are aimed at developing quality education and improving the methodology of teaching with the involvement of the general public, in particular, researchers, to implement these goals.

    The conference sections highlighted and discussed various issues, including: the implementation of modern information and pedagogical technologies that meet global standards; the development of innovative and effective teaching methods; the creation of next-generation textbooks and teaching materials; the development of methodological guidelines for newly created educational resources; mutual exchange and testing of new textbooks and teaching aids; multilingual education and translator training in the context of globalization; incorporation of simultaneous interpretation into educational programs; research and development in training personnel capable of simultaneous interpretation; and the creation and practical implementation of electronic resources.

    In addition, the participation of foreign partners in the plenary session of the conference reflects the practical implementation of the objectives of SDG 17, the issues of preserving the uniqueness of national languages as a value correspond to SDG 11, and the ideas of using artificial intelligence and modern technologies as an innovative tool in learning foreign languages reflect the objectives of SDG 9.
