UWED hosted a mentoring hour entitled “Our Common Home: Lessons from Uzbekistan's Leading Women”, dedicated to the International Day for Tolerance

At the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, within the framework of the International Day of Tolerance, a spiritual and educational “mentor hour” was held on the topic “Our common home: lessons from leading women of Uzbekistan.” The event was organized by the university's Women's Council.
The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen among female students the values of tolerance, mutual respect, mercy and interethnic harmony, as well as to educate young people in the spirit of responsibility and active citizenship using the example of the life path and professional achievements of women leaders.
The event was attended by Galina Vitalyevna Melnikova and professor of the department of Uzbek and Russian languages Galina Madraimovna Rahmatullayeva and other university teachers. During the open dialogue, the students asked questions to the guests and exchanged views on the importance of tolerance and mutual understanding in society.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, most notably SDG 4 (quality education) through its educational format, SDG 5 (gender equality) through supporting leadership and mentoring for female students, and SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions) through promoting a culture of tolerance and civic responsibility.
