Biography Facts
Teaching expertise includes ESP, EFL, Business Writing, and Academic Writing. She is a course coordinator for the first-year students in the faculty and is in charge of the placement process. Batirova has designed and implemented a course syllabus and lesson plans that address advanced-level freshmen at IEM faculty.
Batirova’s research interests include an interdisciplinary approach in teaching ESP classes, raising cultural awareness of students in business English classes, and addressing issues related to teaching academic and business writing classes. Recent publications include Teaching Cultural Differences in the Example of Professional English Classes in the Second Course, The Overview of Problems in Course Book Design and Evaluation in Secondary and Higher Education in Uzbekistan in the Example of EFL Course Books, An Experience of Using Authentic Materials in Academic Writing Classes and Importance of Interdisciplinary Approach in Project Based Learning. She is currently working on a monography devoted to task design in independent learning in the higher education system and problems related to the organization of independent learning.
Awarded a grant by ADB Loan UZB-1737 based on successful completion of short training courses and participated in IDSSVE&RTTC -International Practice in Teacher Development at Melbourne University.Participated as a speaker at the 21st Asia TEFL International Conference with KICE and Korea TESOL in Daejeon, South Korea.
