Biography Facts
Dr. Nargiza Vokhidova holds a senior teacher at the Department of English Language. Before this position she worked as a lecturer and a teacher at the Department of English Philology at Bukhara State University and as a senior teacher at the Department of Foreign Languages at BSU as well. Currently she teaches English for General English for Upper-Intermediate level and English for Specific Purposes, namely Legal English.
She has authored and co-authored a number of articles on teaching methods, English for Specific Purposes and English Literature. Dr. Vokhidova is one of the authors of the textbook B2Ready which has been designed for EAP and ESP context, as well as a collection of tasks that can be used by coursebook designers as model tasks. She is also one of the authors of the Curriculum for teaching English for Specific Purposes across the higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan which was published in 2020 as well as one of the authors of “The Dictionary of the most commonly used verbs in English, Russian and Uzbek” languages. Dr. Vokhidova was awarded a PhD degree in November, 2021 after the successful defense of her dissertation “The Problem of Individual and Society in the works by W.S. Maugham” (October 29, 2021)
Dr. Vokhidova has received a number of fellowships from the US Departments of State, the Istedod Foundation of the President of Uzbekistan and El-Yurt Umidi Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. She has done professional development at Arizona State University in 2012 winning Fulbright FLTA scholarship, at Norwich Institute for Language Education in 2016 becoming one of the winners of the competition “The Best English Language Teacher of the Year”, which was conducted among the English Language teachers who teach at university level in Uzbekistan, at Norwich Institute for Language Education in 2019 winning a scholarship for professional development sponsored by El-Yurt Umidi Foundation. She was a participant of many projects aimed at developing teaching English language in Uzbekistan sponsored by the US Department of State and British Councils.
