On May 1 of this year, a holiday dedicated to the culture of Japan was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event, organized by the Department of Oriental Languages, was attended by the wife of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, Ms. Yuju Hatori, faculty and students of UWED.

Guests had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the eastern country and get acquainted with its traditions, try themselves in the unique art of calligraphy.

As part of the festival program, there was a demonstration of a kimono, the secrets of its various elements, and those who wished could even try it on. Japanese cuisine was of particular interest. Participants took part in preparing sushi, onigiri and other delicious dishes, and then tasted them.

The celebration of Japanese culture at UWED became a bright event that allowed us to better get to know the land of the rising sun.
