    The National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights and the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 17, 2023 “On the wide celebration of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” No. PD-70 in order to ensure the execution of directions, on December 12 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held an international scientific-practical conference on the topic “Ensuring human rights – as the main condition for the sustainable development of social justice”.

    At the international scientific and practical conference, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Human Rights Representative of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Ombudsman), the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Institute of State and Law under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Representatives of state bodies and organizations such as the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Law Enforcement of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Training Center for Lawyers under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Law University, as well as international experts participated.

    The first deputy director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan M.T. Tillabayev, the deputy representative of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights (Ombudsman) B.A. Narimonov, international experts, as well as professors of UWED N.A Nugmanov took part in the event, R. Y Yusuvaliyeva and others spoke.

    The following topics were discussed at the conference:

    - determining the priorities of our country's activities in the field of human rights protection;

    - recognition of the international importance of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in which the highest values ​​of a democratic society are a person, his life, freedom, honor, dignity and other inalienable rights;

    - Creating an educational platform aimed at raising awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, its principles and importance for society;

    - Analysis of the significance of the universally recognized principles of international law on human rights today;

    - review the current state of human rights compliance in different countries and regions of the world, identify successful foreign practice, and at the same time discuss issues and problems in this direction;

    - Covering issues of human rights protection in the European Union.

    The purpose of this conference is to celebrate the significant anniversary of this historical document, which serves as the basis for the protection and provision of universal human rights and freedoms of every person in the world, to discuss and evaluate the trends in the development of human rights over the past 75 years, is to identify the issues and problems facing the states, to effectively implement innovative approaches to strengthening respect for human rights, international legal standards in the field of human rights protection in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
