A seminar-workshop entitled “Implementation of new courses and teaching them on the base of new methodology” - experience in example of “EU Law” course by Khaydarali Yunusov held on September 15, 2007 at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in Tashkent. This event was organized by UNESCO Chair on Human rights and International Law, International Law Department of UWED in the frame of UNDP Project “Enhancing the Capacity of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy to Support the Foreign Policy of Uzbekistan” with the aim to present a new course adapted and developed in the frame of UNDP project at UWED and share personal experience and to encourage young teachers to teach new courses on the base of new methodology.
“There are two reasons that we organized this seminar for, - says young outstanding teacher Khaydarali Yunusov, - the first is approximately 10 new courses are planned to be implemented at UWED as of 2007/2008 academic years. So, my personal experience may be very useful for young teachers in this process. Secondly, new pedagogical methodology becomes more important issues today, especially, under globalization and integration process in field of education”.
Not only young teachers of UWED but representatives from Uzbekistan National University, Tashkent International Westminster University and Tashkent State Institute of Law actively participated also in this event. Issues related to how to implement new courses, what is to be done for making new courses, how to choose new discipline, how to teach new courses, how to use computer, Internet and other sophisticated technology in the process of teaching were the main points of discussion.
As for personal experience of Khaydarali Yunusov, while a student at Sophia-Antipolis University in France during 1998-2000, he got interested in issues relevant to the European integration. Upon returned to Uzbekistan after completion his Master degree’s studies at the University of Sophia-Antipolis in France where he was specialized in European Union Law, he has been trying to implement new knowledge acquired in Europe throughout teaching, lecturing and researching.
Starting from 2005, in particular, a course on European Union Law (European Union and Community Law) and the one on European Law have been introduced by Khaydarali Yunusov into academic curricula at the International Law Department, University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in Tashkent, and have so far enjoyed a wide popularity and success. He has recently written the first manual and academic textbook (European Union Law) in Uzbek language, worked out course syllabus and teaching program.
One more important point should be outlined is as a winner of the Curriculum Development Contest in the framework of the UNDP Project “Enhancing the Capacity of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy to Support the Foreign Policy of Uzbekistan”, Khaydarali Yunusov visited Tsukuba university (Japan), December 2006, where he developed new implemented course and successfully improved his professional skill.
