The opportunities of university library are significant, whose funds consist of about 200 thousand copies of the books on Uzbek, Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and other languages of the peoples of the world.

In library the classical heritage of great scientific Medieval East - Al-Beruni, Abu Ali inb Sino, Al-Bukhari, Al-Farghoni, Al-Farabi, Al-Matrudi, Mahmud Kashghari, Mirzo Ulugbek, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, Omar Khayam, Alisher Navoiy and many others in the Uzbek and Russian languages, works of scientific Uzbekistan on a history, geography, economy, architecture, art, ethnography of Central Asia is widely submitted.

The invaluable help in formation of library fund of the foreign literature was rendered by the embassies of the foreign states, various establishments, charitable funds and private persons.

As, for example, the basic part of fund of the German literature was a gift to library by Embassy of Germany: by the International book fund, Fund Kondrad Adenauer, UWED teachers.

The fund of the English literature was formed with the help of embassies of Great Britain and the USA, many international organizations and funds. The British Council has allocated significant number of the literature on linguistics: the tutorials, methodical materials for the teachers and students, dictionaries, audio and video of the cartridge.

Event of historical value became a transfer by the chapter of the company "BAT Industries" Mr.Patrick Sheehy in 1995 in gift to the UWED library of private archive of his sister - Ms. Anne Sheehy, outstanding English expert in the field of the international relations. The basis of archive was made by research of the scientists on Central Asia giving performance about beauty and an originality of cities, historical monuments, nature of our region, and also about knowledge in the field of the international relations and law.

The sponsor's help of the Company "BAT Industries" has allowed university to get in London the literature in English on legal specialties to the international, private, family, civil, computer, sea and trade law, unique encyclopedia "Britannica". The representation of the World Bank has concluded the contract with UWED granting to the University of book production issued by them in Washington. On the basis of this contract the library receives the special literature on political economic directions of development of the countries of the world, annual reports on international development.

The significant share of funds is taken by the literature in French, including the editions on economy, jurisdiction, politics, and also tutorials, methodical materials and dictionaries. This literature was presented to funds of library by Embassy of France.

By UWED partner - University of Waseda (Japan) in gift is submitted about 2 thousand books on economy, politics and culture of Japan. Over 2 thousand books is given to the University by Embassy of Russian Federation.

At support of embassies the fund of the literature in the Korean, Italian and Spanish languages are created. The library has a rich selection of the help literature.

By encyclopedic, thematic, terminological, linguistic and other dictionaries, including the world famous dictionaries by Broktauz and Efront, World Book, Britannica, and also necessary information sources by the device. Besides the catalogues (alphabetic, regular and subject ones) the bibliographic card files on activity of legislative and executive authority, political and economic situation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the electronic catalogue is being developed.

The library annually replenishes at the expense of periodicals. It receives 42 republican and 90 foreign magazines, 13 republican and 14 foreign newspapers.
