Oriental languages
The department has been organised on the base of two 2 departments; World languages and Romanic-German languages according to the resolution of the Scientific Board of the UWED (25 Oktober, 2008, the protocol ¹ 970)
According to the order ¹ of the Scientific Council, the department of Roman-German and Oriental languages was organized.
The following languages are taught at the department:
- The Japanese language (as a second foreign language)
- The Korean language (as a second foreign language)
- The Arabic language (as a second foreign language)
- The Chinese language (as a second foreign language)

Foreign langauages are taught as a second foreign language to second year up to fifth year students of all the faculties. Japanese and Korean centers and a Cultural Center Of Egypt were established. There are computers, modern audio and video appliances, a copier and a parabolical antenna at the department.
Modern books are available for reading. There are also testing programs at every department.
